On December 17, the controller’s cab was added to the top of the precast control tower for the Barnstable Airport renovation project.

Precast Specialties Corp. will be the precast supplier for the new Air Traffic Control Tower at the Barnstable Municipal Airport in Hyannis, MA. Headed by architect William Starmer of CTBX Aviation Group LLC and construction manager Suffolk Construction, installation of Precast Specialties precast panels will be performed by American Steel & Precast Erectors. The selected panels feature “Gray Screen” colored architectural concrete with “Rose Blend” in-laid thin brick supplied by Endicott Tile. This type of precast panel incorporates brick “tiles” into the form and offers the look of brick with the benefits and efficiency of precast concrete. The Air Traffic Control Tower is part of a two-phase program to update Massachusetts’ third busiest airport.
