Using Precast Concrete for Leed Points

Builders and developers are encouraging designers to incorporate every aspect of sustainable design possible into their projects. With that goal in mind, we are focusing on the benefits of precast concrete for its energy-saving benefits and compliance with sustainability guidelines. In many cases, designers are finding that precast concrete components are helping them achieve the conservation goals owners are seeking, in conjunction with other innovative systems.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is a thirdparty certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Precast Specialties Corp. endorses precast concrete as the sustainable building material, especially with regard to green building rating systems like LEED.

Precast Specialties Corp. is a member of the Architectural Precast Association (APA), a non-profit trade association dedicated to the advancement of architectural precast concrete. The APA designated the LEED credits in this section to help you understand how using precast in construction can contribute to the total LEED points of your next project. Not all LEED credits are applicable for all projects. Please contact us for more information about how sustainable precast concrete from Precast Specialties Corp. can contribute to your next LEED-NC projects in New England including Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont.
